衛生署指出腦中風為台灣地區十大死因的第二位,當腦部血液循環系統有破裂出血或血流受阻的情形,則易引發腦中風,進而造成身體活動不方便。由於大腦具可塑性,適當的動作訓練與治療,有助於中風患者恢復獨立自主生活能力,因此人們開始研發輔助復健機器人來訓練中風病人的患側,結果發現機器復健治療在臨床方面比常規復健治療更具有優勢。病人恢復到一定程度後,可聽從醫生的建議購買復健器材,但這些機器既昂貴又大,一般病人家中並不會有,另外,有許多中風病人住在偏遠的地區,無法多次前往醫院,只能選擇在家復健,因此便宜且有效果的復健工具是很重要的。本研究利用三個慣性測量單元、一個微處理機、一個無線傳輸模組做成一個無線穿戴感測

裝置,用來量測上肢姿態,感測使用者太極拳是否做的正確,並給予復健評估。論文中驗證了系統確效性,系統能即時的偵測使用者目前姿態,並導引使用者做動作,根據使用者目前位置給予評分。希望此系統能協助物理治療師,讓中風患者能夠得到上肢復健的效果,且透過遊戲增加使用者的復健動機,進而恢復中風以前的生活。
