寵物棄養問題一直是寵物研究中的重要研究主題，但卻鮮少有研究從寵物飼主的態度觀點來探討這個議題。近年來臺灣飼養寵物的風氣盛行，寵物的種類從一般常見的貓狗到相對較少見的爬蟲類、昆蟲等，可說是愈來愈多元，在這樣的情況下飼主對其寵物的態度，也就可能會與以往有所差異。 本研究係以調查研究方式，針對全臺灣寵物昆蟲飼主抽樣，試圖了解其在寵物棄養風險認知、寵物照顧行為與寵物依附感的表現如何？並以態度三元論模型說明這三者之間可能存在的關聯性，並證明三個變量之間互相影響的途徑。 研究結果顯示：性別、年齡、教育程度、飼養昆蟲的總年資等背景變項差異會反應在寵物依附感、寵物棄養風險認知、寵

物照顧行為上，且得出寵物依附感越高，寵物棄養風險認知與寵物照顧行為就越高；寵物棄養風險認知越高，寵物照顧行為也越高，從問卷填答結果中顯示寵物昆蟲的飼主在寵物依附感、寵物棄養風險認知、寵物照顧行為都具有較高的表現，可能代表臺灣的昆蟲飼主對於棄養大致抱持著較正向的態度，最後提出結論，希望能為有效管理寵物昆蟲，建立友善環境的研究基礎。
